Who Are Our Neighbors?

Category: Promises and Prayers: A Woman of Faith

Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God's hand for that person. Proverbs  3:27 MSG

Who are our neighbors? Jesus answered that question with the story of the Good Samaritan. Our neighbors are any people whom God places in our paths, especially those in need.

In 2 Corinthians  9, Paul reminds us that when we sow the seeds of generosity, we reap bountiful rewards in accordance with God's plan for our lives: "Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (V. 6,7 KJV).

Today, take God's words to heart and make this pledge: Wherever you happen to be, a be a good Samaritan. Somebody near you needs your assistance, and you need the spiritual rewards that will be yours when you lend a helping hand.
